Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How much advance notice is needed to place an order?
A. Orders placed Sunday-Tuesday will be available for pickup Wednesday-Saturday. Select the day that you would like to pick up your order at checkout. Orders placed on Thursday, or Friday will be available for pick up the next day (subject to change depending on total orders each day). Since we are a small cottage bakery, orders can fill up fast for the day. You will be contacted if your order will not be available for next day pick up due to a high number of orders.
Q. Do you deliver?
A. Your fresh baked goods are available for delivery within a 10 mile radius of our bake shop, with a required minimum order of $50 or more. Please contact us to see if delivery is possible for your location.
Q. Can you ship an order?
A. No. To ensure the freshest quality bakes, we do not ship our baked goods.
Q. Why are you closed Sunday-Tuesday
A. Our bakery is closed Sunday-Tuesday to allow time to prepare ingredients and for baking weekly bakes.
Q. Why are prices set higher than grocery store prices?
A. We prepare our baked goods from scratch, using fresh ingredients like sweet butter cream and fresh eggs. We do not use preservatives or fillers in our ingredients like they do in baked goods at the grocery store. When you order from OC Bakes, you can feel confident in knowing you are getting a quality, fresh baked good.
Q. Can we visit your bakery?
A. Unfortunately, no. We are not permitted to have visitors in the bakery because we are a Maryland Cottage Food Baker and are not permitted under the law to have customers in the kitchen while making food for the public. We do not have a retail counter.
Q. What baked goods do you have on hand?
A. We bake to fill the orders we have for the day of pick up. We do not bake ahead so that we can provide our customers with the freshest, most delicious products possible.
Q. Do you bake seasonal items?
A. We bake seasonal favorites throughout the year. Please check our website for "Seasonal Items" to see what seasonal items are available.
